The reader who heeds the author's stated aims should not be disappointed by the contents of this book. It is primarily a book of technics. Much of the descriptive material is aimed at beginners in the craft of cardiac catheterization. It is essentially a summary of one man's experience and therein lie both the strengths and weaknesses.
The strengths include detailed descriptions of catheter manipulation technics and an emphasis on the basic principles that underlie catheterization technics. Especially strong are the sections on pressure measurement and electrical safety.
