The stated objectives for this volume is to provide a rapid and easy reference on those characteristics of antibiotics and chemotherapeutic agents that are relevant to their use in clinical practice, in the laboratory, and in the pharmacy. The authors of this book from England are former directors of clinical research for two large multinational pharmaceutical firms.
The initial chapter devoted to the principles of chemotherapy is brief and well done. However, the text contains many omissions and frequent errors. For instance, the chapter devoted to properties, toxicity, actions, and uses of antimicrobial agents omits any reference to diarrhea and
