The introduction to this compendium of 14 papers and accompanying discussions provides an excellent summary of its contents. "We start with a general comparison of the parasites from a taxonomic point of view and go on to discuss epidemiology, pathogenicity and problems of immunity. Then we take a closer look at the parasites, their ultrastructure, nutrition and metabolism, and finally consider problems of chemotherapy and drug resistance." The concluding remarks note that the main aim of the symposium had been "to attempt to define the most important lines for future research." This book is highly recommended to those interested in
