Acute cardiac illness represents the major health problem of our time. A systematic "handbook" dealing with cardiac emergency syndromes offers physicians, nurses, and allied health personnel a ready opportunity for frequent review of diagnosis and therapy and easy access to information required "on the spot." Dr. Goldberger has attempted to fill the gap between the skeleton outlines offered in the pocket manuals frequently used by students and interns and the more comprehensive texts, monographs, and reviews from which rapid reference is often difficult.
The book is divided into three sections. The first describes the various syndromes of acute cardiac disease.
