To the editor: The editorial by Udall and Stansbury (Ann Intern Med 81:849-850, 1974) "Sewage: Our Most Neglected Resource" is ill informed, illogical, and ill conceived. Naturally there are the customary blast at public health professionals, the snide references to sanitary engineers, and the sly innuendo that water pollution experts and state health authorities are in the hip pocket of the industrial establishment.
I question the appearance of this not so solid waste on the pages of your otherwise excellent journal. It is apparent the authors have given little thought to the densely populated urban areas of this country where
