Major advances in laboratory techniques have created a need in the clinical laboratory for a book on hormone analysis. The first book represents a collection of papers authored by 20 investigators located at various medical centers throughout the world. Biochemical analysis of estrogen, prolactin, gonadotrophins, testosterone, enzymes in pregnancy, thyroid hormones, and tests to determine fetal maturity are thoroughly discussed. Details of new techniques such as radioimmunoassay and gas liquid chromatography are presented. In addition, a careful discussion of interpretations of the tests is included.
