Undoubtedly most "sarcoidologists" look forward to the proceedings that have been published after each of the international conferences on sarcoidosis, held periodically since the first meeting in London in 1958. The last three conferences, in Paris, Prague, and Tokyo, respectively, resulted in large books that have been excellent sources for pertinent references, chronicles of recent advances, and indications of areas in which advance seems most promising. The current book, derived from the meeting in Tokyo in September 1972, has the format of the previous two books.
