With the help of superb photography Dr. Boyle presents an admirable collection of clinical examples. One hundred fifty-one illustrations demonstrate the typical clinical and radiographic features (an occasional photomicrograph is included) of rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative spondoarthritides, degenerative joint disease, and crystal synovitis. Early disease characteristics are included where possible, as well as the more fully expressed and usually more destructive findings of late-stage disease. Also included are the characteristic lesions of systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, polyarteritis nodosa, polymyositis, and selected rare forms of arthritis such as acromegalic arthritis, hypertrophic osteoarthropathy, ochronosis, hemochromatosis, and hemophilic arthropathy.
