A wide variety of agents are covered, ranging from the more commonly used prescription and nonprescription medicinals through domestic and industrial chemicals, the toxins of snakes and insects, fungi, plants, and shrubs, to addictive drugs including LSD. All chapters are concise and, in general, each contains a paragraph describing the agent, where it is found, and how an individual is either exposed or obtains toxic amounts. The clinical features of illness and treatment are then outlined. May be useful as a handy reference for physicians in primary health care facilities.
