Most of the books recently published on nuclear medicine either limit their subject matter to a fraction of the field or are comprehensive texts written by multiple authors. The latter books usually have the advantage of completeness and accuracy in the individual chapters but the disadvantages of some unevenness of approach and occasional repetition. Furthermore, they are so large that it is likely that most people who buy them (unless they are studying for boards) do not read them in their entirety but use them instead for reference or piecemeal browsing.
