Printed on glossy paper and with approximately two thirds of its text in English, this handsome book, written exclusively by German scientists, merits careful examination. The first chapter (in English) on androgen receptors in the cells of target organs completes the volume Androgens I, which appeared in 1973 and was written entirely in German.
The remainder of the book falls into two parts. The first includes analytic methods and deals with a chapter on the very sensitive, competitive protein-binding methods, including radioimmunoassay, as well as the only two chapters in German, which deal with the clinical determination of androgens, such
