During the past decade a large number of elementary texts have joined the clinical neurology field, whose purported audience includes medical students, house officers, and physicians practicing general medicine. This book falls within that category. The style is anecdotal and, peculiarly, presumes some previous knowledge of the nervous system.
It is hard for me to envisage how this text would be successfully used in teaching medical students at any level about disorders of the nervous system. Still the most successful book in this category, and a work that should be reprinted, is the second edition of Gordon Holmes' Clinical Neurology.
