The authors' stated purposes are to develop a text treating clinical chemistry in detail, to emphasize the most recent developments in technique, to keep the text to a reasonable size, and to emphasize methods, not their historical development nor the detailed interpretation of analytic data. The result of their efforts is noteworthy; not only have they produced a book meeting these criteria, they have done so in a manner that is easily readable and almost a pleasure to use.
