It is always a pleasant surprise to come across a well-written medical text. This monograph was written entirely by Dr. Robin and is consistent in its readable style. It represents a consolidation of much of the information previously published by Dr. Robin in several papers in the early 1970s on scoliosis associated with a number of neurological disorders. The 13 chapters deal with a wide variety of disorders: poliomyelitis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, neurofibromatosis, tumors of the spine, syringomyelia, Friedreich's ataxia, and cerebral palsy. Much of the text discusses the diseases and the types of muscular weakness produced by them.
