Since noninvasive cardiology has gained popularity in the past decade, the present literature abounds with publications in this field. This literature is far, however, from replete with regard to the technical aspects of noninvasive techniques. It pleases me to have read a book that not only discusses applications and concepts but complements this discussion with technical and engineering principles helpful to the performer of the techniques presented.
Chapter topics include exercise testing, phonocardiography, echocardiography, and prosthetic devices. The last chapter is a mélange of present and future trends, which range from apexcardiography to nuclear cardiography to Doppler techniques, acoustical holography,
