Microelectrode and animal studies in the past two decades have facilitated our understanding in both normal and abnormal cardiac electrophysiology. Recent application of intracardiac recording and extrastimulus techniques in man has further closed the gap between experimental studies and clinical conduction abnormalities. Accurate diagnosis and management of cardiac arrhythmias can only be made with a comprehensive knowledge of basic electrophysiology and electropharmacology. With these objectives, Drs. Lister, Gosselin, Sayfie, and Lesser have attempted to provide a book on cardiac arrhythmias with comprehensive information, that is yet in simple and precise language.
Recording techniques with unipolar and bipolar electrodes are introduced
