Papers and discussions from a conference held at Dartmouth Medical School in June 1975 to analyze needs for medical services in the upper Connecticut River Valley and consider the social, institutional, and economic problems in developing adequate medical services for that region. The participants included persons not expert in knowledge of the issues but with a needed perspective, and the issues considered ranged well beyond those of purely local scope. This conference could serve as a guide to organizing programs for the sifting out of regional medical-care problems in other regions.
