A major textbook, mainly concerned with methods, agents, and problems in clinical anesthesiology but also dealing with topics of importance in other fields—hypothemia, hypotension, resuscitation, respiration, acupuncture, hypnosis, and the narcotic and hypnotic drugs. The discussions of fundamentals, in some fields, for anesthetists are sketchy, for example, the reviews of renal function and of acid-base regulation, but this is a text likely to be thought of by nonanesthetists as a source for such information.
