Research on alcoholism has expanded rapidly during the last 10 years. Clinicians find the literature difficult to integrate because it encompasses many disciplines. This monograph reviews developments through 1975 and provides extensive documentation. The 22 authoritative chapters are grouped into three sections.
The chapters in "Orientation and Perspective" view alcoholism historically and consider definitional issues, models, and theories.
