There is a dearth of textbooks in clinical ultrasound. Therefore this book is a timely publication in a field that is rapidly changing and becoming increasingly important clinically. The recent introduction of gray-scale imaging technique limits the usefulness of this book, which deals mainly with bistable imaging. However, it will be of value to the beginning sonographer or the person desiring to learn the principles and clinical application of ultrasound.
The format and organization are good. Each chapter deals with a particular anatomic region and begins with a brief perspective of the role and contribution of ultrasound in the particular
