Since the publication of the first edition in 1971, this textbook has been in use by medical students, technologists, and practicing physicians. Significant corrections, changes, and additions have been made throughout this second edition, particularly in diagnosis and treatment.
Its three parts cover medical protozoology, medical helminthology, and medical arthropodology. That on medical helminthology comprises a treatment of the roundworms (two chapters), the tapeworms (three chapters), and the flukes (two chapters). Chapter 17 includes a discussion of the centipedes, tongue worms, crustaceans, and arachnids, while Chapter 18 covers insects of medical importance.
