A group of authors attacking this subject today must indeed be brave. Anyone attempting to encompass this fluid, almost spectral topic at a time when knowledge is incomplete, often incorrect, and rapidly obsolete invites criticism from specialists in the area. Not surprisingly, this book has some weaknesses, some notable omissions and a slightly commercial flavor, but in general the authors have done a yeomanly job in assembling scattered knowledge in a fashion valuable to both clinicians and laboratorians.
