Reading an expert monograph gives great pleasure, quite in proportion to the information and ideas it contains. The authors have brought together their personal researches carried out over nearly twenty-five years, thus limiting themselves to an anatomical study of the hypothalamus and pituitary with special reference to the complex blood supply of this area. Human anatomy is covered in great detail, in an interesting contrast with the findings in the monkey, sheep, goat, rat, and ferret. The local effects of pituitary stalk section are also described in detail in both humans and other animals.
