Volume 3 differs from its two preceding issues in that the editors make use of a larger number of contributors to discuss various methods that can be used to assay immune status. Twenty-nine contributors cover 21 topics of immunobiology in 442 text pages. As might be expected, topics range from those dealing with serum immunoglobulins, various assays of lymphocyte function and cell-mediated immunity, the HLA system, more specific antigen antibody systems such as rheumatoid factors, antinucleic acid antibodies, and tumor associated antigens, to chapters on complement, neutrophil function, and the reticuloendothelial system.
