It seems somewhat incongruous that an authoritative book on rabies should originate in one of the few countries on earth free of the disease, yet that is exactly what these eight coauthors have produced. In a limited space and for a price that will suit any professional's purse, they have fashioned a readable text on the global problem, virus, clinical disease in man and other animals, vaccines, and ecology of the red fox. The presentation is an interesting meld of the elemental and sophisticated. It ranges from a basic definition of incubation period to a short treatise on the chemistry
