Our understanding of cerebrovascular disease has grown considerably over the past 2 decades, and there is much new knowledge of importance to physicians in every field of medicine. The literature on this subject has become enormous and highly specialized; much of it is accessible only to the subspecialists primarily concerned. A contemporary atlas of the pathology of the cerebral vasculature addressed to a wider readership is therefore welcome.
The authors have assembled a series of 448 black-and-white photographs of postmortem specimens to illustrate all the major and some less common but nosologically important disorders of the cerebral blood vessels. Gross
