A great number of physiological and clinical studies have appeared in recent years covering different aspects of autonomic cardiac control. Dr. Randall and the collaborators on this volume have managed to present most of the relevant information with great clarity, abundance of graphic material, and well-pointed critical overviews.
The introduction defines very well the many problems yet to be solved in the field, and gives an excellent summary of the physiological and clinical implications of the text.
