Influenza has received much publicity in the past year. This book, although written at the very onset of the swine influenza outbreak at Fort Dix, New Jersey, and thus not covering the events since that time, is valuable as an over-all review. It was written before emotions about the subject of influenza had been aroused. The book contains 12 chapters, eight of which were written by Sir Charles Stuart-Harris.
The authors comment on the impossible task of reviewing the world literature on influenza but state that the purpose of the book is to comment on the biology of influenza and
