Sidney finegold's treatise on anaerobic bacteria, infections and intoxications (including botulism and tetanus) is a monumental and encyclopedic single-authored work that is all the more unique because of the lucid presentation. Important clinical and technical aspects—including culture techniques and serology—are clearly presented. Especially helpful are the photographs and illustrations of organisms, and the tables, which provide ready access to information from many sources.
