Although progress in the management of cancer has been made during the past several decades, breast cancer remains the number one cause of cancer deaths in women in this country. More than half of the patients treated for primary lesion can be anticipated to have recurrent disease. The major problem confronting clinicians as well as researchers is that breast cancers are not all alike and represent a wide spectrum of cancers with different biological characteristics.
