Through a wealth of simple, often-sequential diagrams, the author and his illustrator show very clearly and effectively how adult structure evolves from its embryonic origins. This method is more effective than the usual approach to the teaching of gross anatomy in that it rationalizes, as the British would say, the complexities of body structure, particularly of some regions, usually learned by rote. This atlas is as much of an advance in the teaching of anatomy beyond Grant's Method as that godsend to the first-year student was, when it first appeared, beyond "Gray's" and similar pedigogically antique compendia.
