No one can dispute that in this third edition Stradling has again achieved his objective of helping "the student of bronchoscopy learn his way about the normal and abnormal bronchial tree." The 168 color bronchoscopic photographs with accompanying schematics are excellent and cover the gambit of normality and pathology.
The third edition differs little from the second. Three color plates have been removed and five new ones added. A short chapter covering the indications for bronchoscopy was added because "few clinicians appreciate how wide is the diagnostic range of bronchoscopy." Unfortunately it is so concise as to add little information
