As is usually the case with multiauthored volumes the quality and type of readership appeal of the various chapters differ greatly. The series editor, Dr. A.C. Guyton, states that he hopes each author "makes a conscious effort not to write a review consisting of an annotated list of references; and that important material be presented in thoughtful logical exposition, complete enough to convey full understanding, as well as woven into context with previously established physiological principles." Simply stated, some made it, and some didn't.
