It is good to see, in this age of the multiauthored text, the appearance of a monograph by a single author. The unitary approach to the subject, consistency of style, and economy of exposition (duplication having been kept to a minimum) is truly refreshing. The pleasure is especially great when we receive a work from someone like Dr. Siegel, who is obviously writing from a long personal experience managing the diagnostic, therapeutic, psychological, social, and surgical problems presented by dystrophy patients and their families.
