The index of this "short and simple, but nevertheless inclusive, introduction to Dermatology and Venereology for those who are not dermatologists" is a grave injustice to the authors. The index to the excellent quality color photographs in the last half of the book is not to the purported figure numbers but is in reality to page numbers—which are absent. Figure numbers in the text are generally correct. There is no order to the illustrations, and so diseases of the tongue are sandwiched between primary and secondary syphilis, and basal cell carcinomas are found between chilblains and ichthyosis, and again on
