The consensus of participants in a workshop-conference sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service in 1976. Guidance to physicians caring for persons who have had prior radiation to the thyroid, both for detection and therapy. Of interest is the acceptance of minimal papillary cancer as relatively common and benign, physical examination as the keystone of screening, biopsies as part of the evaluation, and extensive surgery.
