Leon Chesley has obviously had a lifelong interest in hypertension, particularly as it relates to pregnancy. He has compiled a remarkable volume that is unusual in its accuracy, completeness, and unbiased approaches to the controversies inherent in the subject. This reviewer was surprised at the fact that many references were less than 2 years old and every aspect of the problem was dealt with in a succinct, but thorough, manner. The literary style lends itself to easy reading, the print is legible, and the illustrations of good quality.
