It is an ambitious undertaking to present a comprehensive review of the current status of computerized electrocardiography. Dr. Pordy is to be commended for his ambition; however, apart from a list of references and some comments on other programs, there is little of a comprehensive nature. The Frank lead system is dismissed because of its deficiencies in diagnosis, although no mention is made of the obvious deficiencies in the 12-lead system. In implementing computerized electrocardiography, the possibility that the physician-read 12-lead cardiogram, combined with the computer-read Frank lead vectorcardiogram, might prove even more useful was not considered.
