Echocardiography has developed so rapidly that it is difficult to keep abreast of new developments. The purpose of this book is to provide an atlas of normal and abnormal echocardiograms to illustrate echocardiographic features of common cardiovascular problems. The author has chosen excellent examples. The narrative text is limited but easy to read; the pictorial portion is excellent. An excellent bibliography at the end of each chapter is carefully referenced in the text.
The first three chapters review anatomy, recording techniques, and measurements. Four chapters deal with heart valve problems, including prosthetic valves. There is one chapter on the left
