In the past decade, endoscopy has progressed from observation to intervention. This monograph is a documentation of a technique fully described as peroral transduodenal endoscopic cannulation of the ampulla (or papilla) of Vater with retrograde demonstration of the pancreatic duct and biliary tree by radiographic contrast material. This mouthful is abbreviated by the authors to ERPC; more common usage is cholangiopancreatography and ERPC. The book excels in two areas.
