As stated in the preface, this book is addressed to a wide group of readers: to biological and physical scientists, to several classes of students, to medical and veterinary practitioners, and to interested laymen. The list of topics covered is as broad as the potential audience, ranging from chemistry through methods, absorption, transport, storage, intermediary metabolism, pharmacologic control, and importance in disease, to public health.
