Introductory section on pathogenesis and epidemiology includes discussion of microbial determinants, the phagocytic system, and the immune systems. Section Two deals with general problems such as fever and hematologic manifestations of infection. Other sections cover individual infections, and management and prevention of infectious diseases. Last chapter is a useful tabulation of diseases by site.
