Stimulated by the clinical need to effectively deal with thrombotic disorders such as myocardial infarction and cerebral thrombosis, research efforts on hemostatic mechanisms have intensified, producing new concepts and a wealth of recent data. Much of this information is available only in specialized journals, monographs, or virtually unedited symposia. Thus, there is a demonstrable need for a book that would comprehensively, critically, and clearly portray the present state of knowledge of hemostasis.
