Other style guides such as Council of Biology Editors Style Manual and that published by the American Medical Association are altogether more useful for authors in clinical medicine, but this new edition of the American Clinical Society (ACS) manual can be helpful on proper conventions for clinical and biochemical symbolization that are not taken up in the other two manuals. It has been prepared specifically for authors submitting papers to ACS journals, and some of its recommendations may not be accepted style for other journals. The manual should be in all academic medical libraries.
