Diagnosis by noninvasive methods increasingly has been gaining popularity and in recent years has been applied in virtually every branch of medicine. The field of peripheral vascular disease has been relatively neglected in terms of dissemination of information on techniques and clinical application, probably because no single medical or surgical subspecialty concerns primarily this group of disorders. Dr. Bernstein has compiled a timely publication that covers a variety of techniques useful for both arterial and venous diagnostic studies, in a format that should prove valuable to clinicians in many different specialties.
