Most of the 15 reviews in this issue will have little value for the physician. Among the others, Kassirer briefly reviews tests of renal function; Issitt sketches the clinical characteristics of autoimmune hemolytic anemia and cold hemagglutinin disease and suggests appropriate laboratory approaches; Moncure summarizes the current clinical usefulness of various carcinofetal "markers" that can be measured in plasma as estimates of tumor presence or extent. The diagnosis of venous thrombosis is reviewed by Qureshi, Fratkin, and Roberts.
