In a field changing as rapidly as immunology, one of the biggest drawbacks has been the availability of a reasonably detailed and current text. Drs. Fudenberg, Stites, Caldwell, and Wells have undertaken this tremendous task and fulfilled it admirably. The second edition of Basic and Clinical Immunology has become available 2 years after the first edition and satisfies well its objective.
The present edition, containing 44 chapters, has been completely revised and has several new chapters. This book is divided into four sections: basic immunology, immunobiology, immunologic laboratory tests, and clinical immunology. Although there are over 50 contributors, the style
