The classification and management of metabolic stone disease has changed considerably in the last few years, and this new book will have a wide range of interest to primary care physicians as well as to medical specialists. The author has made many contributions to our understanding of this field, and he describes his accummulated experience in a very readable and clear-cut presentation.
It is now realized that there are phases of stone formation, such as nucleation, crystal growth, and agglomeration, finally leading to stone formation. There are various causes for stone formation, and therapeutic measures to interfere with stone formation
