Dr. B.F. Fuller, with the editorial help of Frank Fuller, records his observations of the medical scene over a period of many years of medical practice and of teaching in a medical school. He is disturbed by the increasing dependence of physicians on technology and the erosion of the traditional role of a physician. The central theme is the definition of the role of the physician in decision making regarding total care of the patient and of the role of pure technology for diagnosis and treatment.
