The treatment of tuberculous meningitis is controversial because there are few controlled clinical trials. After outlining the pathology, presentation, and methods useful in diagnosis, the author focuses on therapy including the controversial issues. The author's viewpoint about some of these issues such as the apparent position against steroids and for intrathecal therapy, at least in some patients, varies from the approach usually used in this country. Those interested in a clear exposition of the arguments for these viewpoints should consult this book.
